Lauryn Hill at NY Fashion Week

Ms Lauryn Hill made an appearance at NY Fashion Week today, attending the Carolina Herrera show. And if she decides to come, she is automatically the MVIP.

Are you over the Roberta Flack and D’Angelo tribute led by Ms Lauryn Hill at the Grammys yet? I’m not. There was so much wonderful intention in that performance, with all those artists, and not only was Lauryn one of them, but she was also the conductor. If you’ve ever seen her live in concert, it’s a familiar role for her, she is constantly giving direction and I’m not sure she’s credited enough for how skilled she is in musical arrangement. There’s a direct connection from Nina Simone to Ms Lauryn Hill.

Those of us who are fans are well aware of that Ms Lauryn Hill operates on her own time – and that applies to social media too. She doesn’t jump on a post right after something happens, she often lets the experience sit before she shares. I also appreciate that she’s known for a long caption, not always, but our Queen has things to say!
